Chapter 23.08 SPECIAL (S) USES
23.08.262 Hotels--Motels.
(a) Limitation on Use. Transient lodgings in the public facilities
category are limited to hotels and motels in conjunction with public airport or
port facilities.
(b) Permit Requirement.
(1) Two to Thirty-Nine Units.
Minor use permit approval; except that development plan approval is required for
all hotels and motels in the recreation category.
(2) Forty or More Units.
Development plan approval.
(c) Density. The density of a hotel or motel is
not limited by this title except that a site for such use shall be designed to
accommodate all proposed units while also satisfying all applicable height,
setback, parking and other standards of this title and the land use element
without the need for modification, adjustment or variance of such
standards.
(d) Parking. Hotels and motels shall provide off-street parking
as set forth in Section 23.04.166(c)(9) (transient lodgings). In the event that
a hotel or motel includes any facilities in addition to overnight units (e.g.,
restaurant, bar, meeting rooms, etc.), all additional facilities shall be
provided off-street parking as required by Section 23.04.166(c) of this title,
in addition to the parking required for the hotel or motel. (Ord. 2715 §
